Our CEO Tim Harris gives his verdict on the growth of the Internet of Things:
Analysts have been predicting the scale of growth in the IoT industry for years, envisaging a giant surge in the demand for IoT. Even though the rise of IoT may not have succumbed to analysts’ expectations yet, there are still clear signs that the adoption of IoT has begun and the demand is only going to increase as the market swells to a considerable size.
Here at WND we are confident that IoT data collection will become the unmitigated ‘norm’ very shortly, similarly to these notable technological examples:
Mobile Phones – Some of us may remember when mobile phones first appeared and were seen as an expensive ‘flash in the pan’ novelty, Yeah right!.
The Internet – The beginnings of the internet, when nobody trusted it, avoiding making online purchases in fear of losing their money, look at the size of e-commerce now!
IoT data collection has faced the same negativity as the above examples, until now. Mass adoption has previously been slow, observed with suspicion and encountered resistance. However, the masses are beginning to comprehend the value of IoT data collection.
The recent COVID-19 pandemic, along with many other pressing issues at the top of global political and business agendas including global warming, sustainability, energy conservation, time and resources has been an eye-opener to many businesses, with many reconsidering the need for many of their processes. IoT data collection is placed perfectly to assist organisations in accomplishing change across the globe.
So… It’s happening!
WNDUK is now at the forefront of the IoT data collection industry and is perfectly positioned, along with our channel partners and growing ecosystem to prosper enormously from it.
(A complete article on our CEO’s report of the IoT marketplace will be coming soon, along with his predictions for 2021).
